Month of the Military Child

A statewide April celebration for military kids

Purple Up, classroom kits, family events, and shared stories all come together here. If you want the full picture, this is the page to start with.

What it is

Recognize the kids who live military life every day

Each April, Iowa CYP joins schools, families, and communities across the state to recognize military-connected children. The month is a chance to celebrate resilience, raise visibility, and make sure Guard kids feel seen.

You can keep it simple or make it big. The important part is creating a moment that says military children matter here.
