Iowa Launches Purple Star Schools

Iowa officially launched its Purple Star School Program during Month of the Military Child, marking a major milestone in statewide support for military-connected students.

The program grew from years of collaboration across education and military communities. Senate File 275 created the foundation, and Iowa became the 44th state to adopt the nationally recognized designation.

Purple Star Schools establish visible resources, trained staff, and practical systems that help students navigate frequent moves, disrupted learning, and separation from a parent.
