Altoona Teen Honored for Service to Guard Families

Military childhood can bring challenges that are easy for others to miss. For Klaryssa Klair Dunwoody, those challenges became an invitation to lead.

Through the State Teen Panel, Klair helped plan and support family events while becoming a reliable presence for younger youth and parents navigating Guard life.

Her dedication earned the 2023 Iowa Army National Guard Youth Volunteer Award and showed other teens that youth leadership is part of the mission.
